Benefits to industry

The transfer from a laboratory to factory or professional environment is often quite sharp for graduates entering the workforce, and the proposed module will prepare graduates better for a successful transition to successful roles outside the university or research environment.

Benefits to research

Many FIRM-funded projects are in applied (product-oriented) areas, and the areas covered in this module will enable researchers to better place their research in an industrial context, and should also encourage research that can more readily be transferred, if appropriate, through technology transfer to the food sector.
